Apart from the 2003-2009 model years, the Camaro has been the Bow-Tie brand's answer to the Ford Mustang since 1967. The RWD coupe and convertibles are available with several engine options from mild to wild, and your choice of manual or automatic transmissions. The Camaro sits just below the Corvette in Chevrolet's sports car hierarchy. The Camaro received a complete redesign last year, still using the retro formula as before but with a modern twist. Underneath the car's new sheet metal is General Motors' Alpha platform, the same architecture that underpins the Cadillac CTS and ATS. No longer is the Camaro a straight-line muscle car; instead, the Camaro has transformed into a pure-bred performance car with exceptional handling and elegant moves. From some angles, the Camaro cuts striking, honed lines, and the sweeping rear roof pillar is gorgeous in the profile. It still wears its powerful haunches with the same pride, which nicely balance out its tall nose and slim grille. The menace? It's all there, intact, especially in dark colors. This Camaro was done in black, and they added real carbon fiber side skirts, some additional red accents, and smoked taillights. The front end with its thin grille with big intake is menacing, especially from the side. The interior of the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro brings together contemporary elements – like the crisp infotainment display – with a hint of retro features, such as the analog speedometer and tachometer. The standard MyLink infotainment system in the 2017 Camaro features a 7-inch touch-screen display, Bluetooth, satellite radio, two USB ports, and six speakers. It also includes smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A rearview camera and automatic climate control are also standard. Available features include dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose premium sound system, wireless smartphone charging, a head-up display, a customizable 8-inch driver information display in the gauge cluster, blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, and rear cross traffic alert. The LT1 with its 6.2-liter V8 making 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque is in another league. It is one sensational piece of hardware, with a 0-60 time of four seconds flat. BUT there’s additional upgrades to this Camaro that make it faster, handle better, and give you an awesome driving experience. The Vitesse throttle controller drastically improves your drivability. MBRP cat back exhaust claims to add approximately 3-5 horses at the feet, improving airflow and eliminates exhaust fumes. BMR suspension with motor mounts and front and rear sway bar. Atomic Force intake manifold and a ROTO fab cold air intake were also added. We aren’t sure the horses this Camaro is pushing, but we can tell you she’s fast and LOUD! She rolls on G-Force comp 2 tires 255/35/ZR20 front and 285/35/ZR20 on the rear. The Camaro is far from the straight-line muscle car that Chevrolet debuted in 1967.
